This is the story of a praying mantis that was born in the dry grasslands of Southern Italy, close to Matera, the town that will be the European capital of culture in 2019. Matera is home to thousands of lesser kestrels that hunt insects in the Mediterranean steppes, together with rollers. The mantis has to face the black widow spider, frightening saga pedo crickets, and lots of enemies which inhabit the dry banks of the river that crosses the amazing biodiverse steppes of Southern Italy.
